Check Before You Drive

What must you do before you start driving, especially if you are travelling long distance?

A pre-trip inspection.

Items to inspect:-

i) Petrol/Fuel
Make sure there is suficient fuel for your journey & correct fuel is used.

ii) Oils

Check the level of brake, clutch, auto transmission, power steering fluids & engine oil.

iii) Water
Check the level of water for windscreen wiper and radiator, level of coolant and battery fluid, & carry suffient water for the vehicle and for youself.

iv) Electric

Make sure battery, brake lights, headlights, indicators, reverse lights and hazard warning lights are in good function.

v) Wipers & Tyres
Make sure the windscreen wipers are still functional, tyre pressure for all 4 tyres and spare tyre are properly inflated and check the tread patterns of the tyres for any fault indication.


vi) Safety Equipments

Make sure you have these items in your car in case of emergency: warning triangle, tools for changing the spare tyre.
